Since the article about my house and the house blog came out in the San Antonio Express News article, I have now had two other bloggers cover the blog. The article in Lenderama, a blog for the mortgage lending industry did a postivie story. The other article in a blog called Death and Taxes, written by a lawyer in Chicago, challenged the version notion of what I was doing by taking such an active part in the process of selling my home.
Today's edition of our local newspaper, the San Antonio Express-News, did a story on my house blog that you are reading.
The article was well done, and accurate except for one thing: I do have a collection of classical music which I inherited from my Dad, but I am a major rock music fan. With the Express-News being part of the Hearst Corporation's newspaper group, my hope is that the article will be syndicated nationally and ulimately help me find the right buyer.
All in all, a great story.
Located at 7701 Broadway, Fredericks is one of my favorite restuarants in the area. The review from Frommer's describes it as being of the best restaurants in San Antonio. It's hard to find good Asian fusion in town, and this place comes closest to being the best.

This is not an original idea. In looking at other neighborhood related blogs around the U.S., I found an interesting one, Daily Heights.com ( as in Prospect Heights / Brooklyn, NY) that features neighbor submitted photos of daily life.
So, if you want to display your photos- send them to me at: alan@weinkrantz.com. Cell phone quality photos are ok, but I would prefer traditional digital camera photos.
Yes, there really is life outside of Alamo Heights. Actually, that's the good thing about living in a small town of 6,000 people, in a city of over 1,000,000 people. A great site to check out for what's happending in the greater San Antonio area is SA Metro.

Today I will be en route to London and then to Boston for a combination of business and personal travel for one week.
While I am away, the Alamo Heights Police will be watching over 826 Cambridge Oval for me. There is no charge for this service and it demonstrates on of the great city services you get when you live in Alamo Heights.
Terry Brechtel, the former City Manager of the City of San Antonio is now acting in a similar role acting as a consultant in running the day to day business of the City of Alamo Heights. She actually has a consulting gig, rather than it being an official job.

Great food. Great music. Great ambiance. This is the Broadway 5050. You have to try this place.
If you buy my house, dinner (up to $50) is on me. Aside from the great good, they have one of the most unique web sites compared to other local Alamo Heights merchants and restaurants. Check out their menu. My favorite? The Big Kahuna burger.
