Free White Paper: The Art of Developing and Telling Your Company’s Story

Quite often when speaking to a prospective client, the first question I get is: “…so do you have the right connections in the media to get us coverage?”

    Are we connected?

Does our team have “good connections?”  Sure.  That’s the easy part of what we do.

The Message.  The Story.  It’s The Hardest Part.

My 3Screens Blog Scoops All National Media to Report on the First Starbucks in the U.S. with AT&T WiFi

Picture_10 In my other life, I have a blog called 3Screens.net.

It's a consumer facing blog about what it's like to be an AT&T three screens customer.

In producing this blog, it makes me be my own client, having to stay on message, think about communications strategy, with an end game of  building authority and brand.

By three screens, it refers to the TV, the PC and my wireless device (and iPhone) -- all of which I have service from AT&T.

While my focus has been on IPTV, I am starting to write and cover stories about wireless.  I happened to be driving in between my home and my office, stopped at the Starbucks in my neighborhood, got a cup of Java and saw the AT&T crew there.

I knew that AT&T and Starbucks had announced the switch from T-Mobile to AT&T, so putting 1 + 1 together, I ran to my office, got my computer, logged on, got on the AT&T (and not the T-Mobile network), blogged, sent some pitches out via email, and.....it just struck a chord.

I am going to start melding AT&T / Starbucks / Apple into my editorial mix.  Oh- yes, still do IPTV.  Once whole home DVR is real its yet another ball game.  And once I get U-verse Voice, then I have an all IP home.  There is plenty to do and more fun to come.

Breaking coverage included sites such as:

    Engadget

    Gizmodo

    Gizmonews

    Houston Chronicle (thanks, Dwight;)

    InformationWeek

    MacWorld (Glen Fleishman's syndicated story)

PC World (Glen Fleishman's syndicated story)

RV Internet (a news site for people who live in RVs, or are always on the road and need Internet access)

San Antonio Express News  (where AT&T is headquartered)

Seattle Post Intelligencer (where Starbucks is headquartered)

    TMCNet

Washington Post (Glen Fleishman's syndicated story)

If your company doesn’t have a social media strategy in place, you’re getting left behind.
    Dsc_0155
Just as websites were the new thing in the early 90s, social media platforms can be an effective communications medium for companies to get the word out about their products, services, the marketplace, and more.  And it’s working – journalists, analysts, and customers are taking notice.

How Social Media Can Help Humanize Your Company (And Much More)

Picture_5 Today, I gave a presentation InnoTech in San Antonio, entitled, Strategies for Leveraging Social Media & Web 2.0 Technologies.  I joined Giovanni Galucci, who lead the discussion.  You can read more about today's event in today's story in our local paper, the San Antonio Express News.

I focused on the notion that Social Media can help humanize your company.  By that, I mean it can put a real voice, a real face, and if you will - some personality on your company and your brand.

I also demonstrated how, through my this blog, and my other, 3Screens.net can really impact organic search results.

If you have any questions about the presentation, don't hesitate to contact me via email at: alan at weinkrantz dot com.

Israel21C's Coverage of Israel's Technology Sector, Worth Reading and Watching

I've been following the evolution of ISRAEL21C for several years, and it's latest iteration which was recently launched.

Each week, ISRAEL21c produces 12 to 15 new stories about progress and ingenuity from Israel, and how Israelis are adding value to American life and life around the world.  My personal favorite section is the Technology Channel, which I highly recommend.

And every Monday morning, more than 20,000 people have a free, one-page email newsletter delivered to them by ISRAEL21c so they can be up-to-date and informed. The newsletter contains a headline for each story, sorted by their channels: Health, Technology, Global Democracy, Profiles and Culture, and a link directly to that story on their website.
