En Route to VON

I am headed off to VON Spring 2007 - Voice on the Net / Video on the Net.

We have two clients we are supporting - Surf Communication Solutions and Network2.tv plus seeig long time friends and just having fun at one of my favorite tradeshows of the year.

As much as VON keeps growing, it never loses its vibe:  a place where a whole lot of very interesting and passionate people combust and create new ideas and business opportunities.

Network2.tv Showcases Top 60 Entries for Its 'How Do You Watch Internet TV?' Contest

Our client, Network2.tv today announced that it is showcasing its top sixty entries for the "How Do You Watch Internet TV?" contest http://pulverblog.pulver.com/archives/006601.html

One of these entries will be the winner of $25,000, another will win $10,000 and one will win $5,000. The winners of this contest will be announced on March 20th at Spring 2007 Video on the Net.

Visiting Financial Institutions in New York Next Week

Next week I am in New York visiting several financial institutions to discuss my knowledge, insight, and experience in the IPTV space in the context of my other blog, SAtechBLOG.com

I will be addressing the potential impact for the "phone" companies in the U.S. and the world to disrupt and possibly reinvent the telecom and broadcast industries.

I will be in Silicon Valley doing likewise at the end of July.

Major Vendors Spend Big Bucks on Booths at CES

Companies like Microsoft, Panasonic, Sony, Pioneer, XM, Samsung, and in the photo below, Intel not only display their new wares at CES, but bring in and showcase industry partners and application providers to show how their just-announced Viiv technology will be used in upcoming new products.

I think Samsung must have had the largest booth of all with over 25,000 square feet of space.  You can read about the Samsung booth at the Engadget blog entry.

CopperGate Communications to Exhibit at the TelcoTV 2005 Conference & Expo

Today, our client, CopperGate Communications, announced that it will be exhibiting at the TelcoTV 2005 Conference & Expo, being held November 9-10 at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, and will be located in booth 732.

TelcoTV Conference & Expo is the only event to focus on the IPTV experience from the telecom service provider’s perspective. TelcoTV 2005 will feature over 125 vendors from all segments of the video value chain. This year’s event is expected to have more than 2,000 attendees.

Our client will be demonstrating several customer products which embed its CopperStreamTM chipset for multimedia home networking.  The products, which implement the HomePNA 3/ITU G.9954 standard, provide in-home distribution of multiple standard and high definition IPTV, VoIP, and audio streams in addition to high speed Internet data over both coaxial cables and phonelines.  CopperStream products feature HomePNA 3 guaranteed QoS which enables Telephone Companies to provide TV service with the quality that consumers expect.

We have several appointments with leading analysts and journalists already scheduled which should lead to increased visibility and coverage about our client.
